CJL Consulting works directly with the facility’s Food and Nutrition staff to provide collaboration and support to meet the facility’s food service needs and regulatory requirements.
Our team will assist with food supply and purchasing, guest satisfaction, and menu planning while guiding your staff every step of the way in implementing a successful and satisfying dining program, and ensuring the individual nutritional needs of the resident are met. Our menu planning services will ensure customer satisfaction and provide guidance to support them.
We understand that food cost can be one of your biggest expenses. We will work closely with your Food and Nutrition Manager to assess food cost, as we understand the importance of remaining financially compliant. CJL can help your team analyze and identify potential areas for budget reduction as well as audit the entire menu to ensure items are being consumed. We can also assist in auditing the three-day emergency food supply that is federally regulated.
At CJL, we are passionate about ensuring your facility meets local, state, and federal safety regulations. As a team, we can identify areas of improvement with sanitation and food to provide solutions that create the highest level of standards to remain survey ready. We will assist with training staff on sanitation as well as implement a system that is easy to follow and stays up-to-date.
Comprehensive quality assurance reviews and monthly quality assurance reports will be conducted to analyze, enhance quality assurances, and provide recommendations.
Menu Services
Our experienced staff will work with you to develop a specialized, cost-effective nutrition program that fits your facility’s unique dietary needs. Working with your chosen vendor, we will review menu adequacy of your patient populations as well as ensure the menus meet the needs of the population within the facility. These menus can be easily modified based on your per patient day and include nutritional analysis, taking the guesswork out of nutritional adequacy. All menus are reviewed and approved by our Registered Dietitian for quality assurance. Our team will participate in care plan meetings to enhance the residences dining experience and ensure dietary restrictions are taken into account.
Clinical Programs
Whether your facility needs Registered Dietitians (RDs), Diet Technicians Registered (DTRs), or Food and Nutrition Managers, we are happy to provide professionals to meet your needs. Our dietary and nutrition experts conduct nutrition screenings and comprehensive assessments, as well as implement personalized nutrition interventions. These assessments are done continuously throughout the duration of your residents’ stay in order to monitor the effectiveness and modify the care process if needed. Our goal is to enhance functionality, meet guidelines, and ensure customer satisfaction of meals.
Our team is committed to following standardized procedures, and review, assess, and make recommendations for the necessary sections of the Minimum Data Set (MDS). Certain high-risk conditions trigger further assessment of the residents, such as significant weight gain/loss, tube feeds, wounds, etc. The final step is to develop a comprehensive resident care plan based on the MDS information and help to diligently monitor the resident to the best of our ability.
Educational Services
CJL recognizes the importance of keeping your staff up-to-date on all food service rules and regulations. We provide a variety of in-service education and training for all levels of learning in the Dietary and Nursing Departments that will assist your team to acquire the knowledge they need to serve your residents to the best of their ability. Our in-service education programs will assist your staff in being survey ready at all times. Our team of professionals has the access to any resource your facility may need to meet all of your educational requirements.
We also can assist in creating plans of corrections as well as be proactive with compliance, survey readiness, and assist with audits.
Our Dietitians are also available to be your preceptors for Food and Nutrition Managers who are completing the Certified Dietary Manager Course.
